SAFE INNOV launches the LVSL (Luminescent Life and Safety Line) to secure interventions near dangerous areas.

LVSL: protection system for professionals working near high-risk areas, the result of a fruitful partnership with the SNCF

With the abandonment of chemical weed control in favor of manual clearing, it has become essential for SNCF Réseau to ensure the safety of personnel working along the tracks.
In response to this need, SAFE INNOV, My Angel’s sister company and expert in the protection of isolated workers (PTI), innovates and markets a virtual barrier to be temporarily installed at the edge of the tracks.
This cable, a real luminous lifeline, is detected by a proximity sensor worn on the ankle by the intervening personnel. This sensor alerts him if he is too close to the cable, thus potentially too close to the danger zone. The sound signal can also be received by a communicating hearing protection system (the GUARDIAN communicating headset in partnership with VOKKERO by VOGO).
Approved equipment deployed by the SNCF, the LVSL (Luminous Life and Safety Line) is also useful to prevent the risk of accidents for professionals in many sectors of activity, working near high-risk areas: hopper, trench, dangerous machinery and construction equipment, approach to traffic lanes, electrical risk, forestry operations, etc.
The installation of an LVSL is fast (15 minutes to secure 100 meters), simple (no calibration is necessary) and does not require any particular logistics.

LVSL (Luminescent Life and Safety Line): from specific needs to innovative solutions

1) Context of the SAFE INNOV / SNCF Réseau partnership

The Virtual Barrier/Lighted Life Line (VLL) project was launched in 2017 to provide a solution to a specific safety issue for SNCF Réseau. Indeed, being a forerunner and having the will to stop using glyphosate, the SNCF has changed its practice of vegetation control. This implies increased human intervention near the tracks and a desire to improve practices in terms of safety and worksite logistics.
Tested with several vegetation control teams, in real-life situations on different sites and types of work sites, the LVSL was designed with the users in mind.
The system has been patented.
Manufactured in France, the LVSL will be launched this summer 2021

2) LVSL: a safe, practical and economical alternative to physical barriers for different sectors of activity and types of construction sites.

The LVSL has applications far beyond the railway sector. This mobile security solution is designed to secure any human intervention near hazardous areas.
A LVSL consists of sensors and a reel that carries and feeds a luminescent transmitter cable. The reel (with 60 or 100 meters of barrier cable) is particularly mobile to quickly and easily implement the cable to delimit the dangerous zone, and thus secure a team of several workers.
An individual 10 meter portable version is also available.
In all cases, the solutions are totally autonomous and very ergonomic: the reels directly incorporate a battery for cable management, storage and recharging of the proximity sensors.
Each worker wears a sensor that detects and signals proximity to the cable. If the worker is too close to the danger zone, an audible warning signal is emitted by the sensor. The worker can then immediately re-establish the safe distance.
In a noisy environment, the sensor can also be connected to a communicating hearing protection system (GUARDIAN communicating helmet in partnership with VOKKERO by VOGO, compatible with the ALPHA and OPTIMUM cases) and thus relay the alert to the helmet. It brings a double safety benefit for the staff: alert and possibility to communicate in a very comfortable way with the rest of the team thanks to the VOGO active communication solution.
SAFE INNOV offers the LVSL for sale or rent according to your needs. A test period is also possible.
